Friends by Chance, Sisters by Choice (2019, Oct 1-8)

I've always been told "People come into your life for a reason or for a season", and obviously these girls are for a reason. It's not a stretch to say that I've known these girls for over 40 years. We go way back.

We even make a special pendant for the occasion.

Like all best friend, we're attached at a hip

Hanging out with old schooltime friends equals having a good laugh and good foods.

A little incident happened at the end of this birthday feast. Nobody runs the red pocket tradition by me, and leave me bit overwhelmed. Luckily all things resolves well and we all leave with big smiles.

Seems like among locals, the trend du jour is eatery hopping.

what? it doesn't compute, right? it's supposed to be a dessert, not main course. but it's yummy.

Eating healthfully is important, but treating yourself to a guilty pleasure from time to time is definitely not a crime.

Despite of being fully full, I need to get this down. It is the coup de grace of the night, Martabak Telor, 

meat and egg stuffed pancake.

That's my last few days in Medan. Missing everyone already!!! Thanks for making my time in Medan awesome.

Deli Serdang, Cemara Asri Inn (2019, Oct 6-9)

Cemara Asri Inn. What can I say? Apart from its vicinity to the eating haven, there's nothing special - just run-of-mill. 

A nondescript shophouse hotel with rows and rows of rooms facing each other.

The main reason I put Cemara Asri in my itinerary because I've never been here. This place is new and haven't been around at my schooling time. The second reason is it being a foodie paradise. Lots of Medan comfort food in every nook and corner, and that's kind of stuff that I pretty get jazzed about.

 

I feel like I'm in the best of hands and I am gonna be thrilled to see what ends up happening.

And first thing first.. from top to bottom, taukua heci, padang satay, tok-tok.

As long as I keep eating, I'm a happy bunny.

As insomniac as I am, I'm absolutely shagged. Have no sleep at all. But I have to collect myself cause today have to fly back home. Got plenty of time to sleep at the airport.

 

kuala namu international airport... time to zzzzzzzzz...

Before I go zzzzzzzzzz-ing, I happen to see a guy passing by, all adorned with branded items from head to toe. Found nowhere else but in my Medan hometown. Now my mind keeps calculating the value of this guy's outfit and so long my zzzzzzzzz-ing.
