George Town, Macalister Road (2014, June 26)

Macalister Road 中路 or Jl. Macalister, is one of the main road in George Town, Penang. It was named after Colonel Norman Macalister. A confidante to Captain Francis Light, Colonel Macalister served as Governor of Penang from 1807 to 1811.

You can find many sights along Macalister Road as you stroll around. And I managed to snap a photo or two of the landmarks:

Churches along Macalister Road:
Cantonese Methodist Church
Penang Baptist Church
Penang First Assembly of God
St. Paul's Church

Eatery along Macalister Road:
New Lane Hawker Center

Between Anson Road and Residency Road:
Loh Guan Lye Specialist Center
YMCA Penang
Island Hospital

Between Komtar and Anson Road:
Penang Museum at Macalister, originally The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital
Menara UMNO
Sun Yat Sen Memorial Center(Penang Philomatic Union)
