The
shimmering first ray of of morning greeted us as our bus glided into
Guilin Main Bus Station. It was a gloomy rainy morning, yet Guilin
breathtaking view and the excitement to uncover new places washed away
all the fatigue from 13 hours sleeper-bus grueling ride. We hadn't
booked a hotel beforehand and planned to search for local hotel on the
spot. Many tour operators greeted us as we stepped down the bus. Having
no idea where to go, we agreed to give it a try when Mr. Wang from
Tailian International Travel Service offered to drive us to the hotel
they recommended, so off we went... to Jingui Hotel. The 2-star hotel is
0.2km away from the Guilin Bus Station, about 30km away from the Guilin
Liangjiang International Airport, about 35km away from the wharf, about
0.3km away from the South Railway Station. Not bad for an overnight
stay for CNY 128/night... a twin-bed standard room with nice air
conditioning and ensuite bathroom. After setting us 8 girls down to our
rooms, Mr. Wang was ready to help us plan our trip and figured out any
more travel problems. He made all the sightseeing arrangements for us,
bought our tickets to the Impression Liu Sanjie Light Show, bought us
Yangshuo-Shenzhen sleeper-bus tickets (RMB 150/person) and he even
helped us buying local phone cards. He was amazing!
After a nice shower and a quick rest, we went downstairs and got ready to take on the rest of our adventure :) We took a half day sightseeing excursion to Chuanshan National Park and an hour cruise to Elephant Trunk Hill for only CNY 20/person, exclude ticket admission to the park.
