Yangshuo, Assembly Dragon Cave (2009, Apr 20)

Fresh and fully recharged after an overnight sleep at Jin Gui Hotel, Guilin, I was eager to kick the day off with a new trip exploring Yangshuo. Mr. Wang had arranged that Miss Li 李小姐, (contact number: 13617735756) picked us up from the hotel by Bus 3158. The bus was fulled with elderly couples and we had to take extra care not to bump them with our heavy backpacks. It was a one-way trip cause we planned to head straight to Yangshuo and stay there. Amazing conical hills passing by the window...a feast to the eyes, I said to myself. Miss Li did a good job introducing us to the history of Yangshuo Town... about how it flourished rapidly after Zhang Yimou set up Zhang Yimou Lijiang River Fine Art School 張藝謀漓江藝術學校 (see www.yxlsj.com/zymljysxx/index.htm) in year 2K.

Our first stop was The Assembly Dragon Cave, 6.5km south of Yangshuo, between the famous scenic spots "Big Banyan Tree" and "Moon Hill". The cave is full of different magic stalactites and stalagmites shaped like dragons flying on cloud or playing with water, for which the cave is named. It's about 1,000 meters long, and our trip lasted for 60 minutes.

A local photographer stood by the entrance gate and took a single snapshot of us. We could claim the photo later at exit gate and got a small keychain photo for free and a larger laminated photo for RMB 10.
